Game of Thrones Season 8 Is Going To Suck – Here’s Why

Shelby Chau / March 17, 2017

We all know that Season 7 is coming on July 16, 2017, and that there’s only going to be seven episodes to watch this summer. Now we’ve heard that the final season of the critically acclaimed HBO series is only going to have a total of six episodes to show us what happens to House Stark, House Lannister, and House Targaryen.

WHAT THE HELL. So, that’s why it’s going to suck.

It doesn’t matter who lives, who dies, nor what happens to those dragons. All that matters is that once that last episode airs, that’s it – we’re not going to get any more of those jittery feelings before a new season gets underway. Nor will we get any more “WTF” reactions from some of the show’s most memorable scenes.

The announcement was made by David Benioff and Dan Weiss at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. They confirmed that not only will it only be six episodes long, they won’t even be doing all of the writing. Those duties have been shared with two other writers, Dave Hill and Brian Cogman. Hill has been tasked with writing the premiere while Cogman is set to write the second episode of season eight. The remaining four episodes will fall in the hands of Benioff and Weiss.
